Born in Northern Ireland, Hazel Nicholls came to London to study at Camberwell School of Arts. She graduated with a degree in illustration way back in 2006.
Her work is chiefly influenced by her longstanding love of cross stitch and an interest in old phrases and sayings. She learned how to screenprint four years ago and continues to experiment with the medium, applying her work to ceramics, textiles, packaging and more recently a giant fibre glass egg.
Hazel loves real ale, the seaside, ten-pin bowling and of course a good pun.
